Need to add family Platycnemididae

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

I have photos of the damselfly Odonata (part one), family Platycnemididae, genus Platycnemis, species latipes
Please can you allow me to add this insect?

Hilary,

I have added the family Platycnemididae by creating an entry for your Damselfly - Platycnemis latipes here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/5152/

Let me know when you have added your images, and I will select one to illustrate the family in the index,

best wishes

Thanks Ken. I've added a photo of a male, but as it turned out, only the one photo was worth posting, so I'll keep on the hunt for more. I have seen a female too, so fingers crossed :)
I also saw P pennipes last year, so will try and get a photo of that species too.
I am fairly confident that this male emarged from the pond in my garden close to the house, so will keep on the trail.........

All the best

Thanks Hilary,

I have added your image to the index to illustrate the Platycnemididae here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/browse/order.php?bid=224

Thanks Ken. I'll let you know if I have success and get a better photo for the index :)

Hi Ken. I've added a better photo to this entry - the length of the insect in focus - perhaps you'd like it for the index? Still only a male - no female yet. I went looking this morning and found half a dozen or so, but they were all males. However I did see them displaying to each other - flashing their white thighs :)

I've just been in to add a dragonfly and was surprised to see a box waiting for Platycnemididae there as well - it must have put itself there automatically as part of Odonata?

Thanks Hilary, I have switched the index to your new image.

The Platycnemididae in the dragonflies, was a mistake on my part. I initially added it in the wrong place. I cannot delete it myself, so have asked Dave and am waiting for him to remove it,

Ah good - as long as you know

Thanks for putting the better image as the index illustration. Sorry to give you more work. Will continue to look for a female.

Hilary
