IDENTIFICATION: My first MG blooms of the season

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

I believe this is a lavender moonflower mg from Japan opening up. It opens at night (so I guess I have to call it a night glory and the stem is full of stickers. The leaves are heart-shaped. The flower has a long tubular body on it. Pretty cool. Need to get a name for this one. Thanks.

Here's a side view, showing leaf shape & soft spines on the stem. Cool, huh?

Thanks, Joseph. I am really enjoying it. Wondering if I will have to go outside with a flashlight & a paintbrush & pollenate.

Ron, Thank you so much. I looked at the link & it is exactly as pictured & described. Sure hope I get seeds. Will I have to go out tonight with a paintbrush?

The Ipomoea turbinata usually produce mature anthers and release the (mature) fluffy looking pollen most adequately to self-fertilize without any need for hand pollination, but if you see that there are no seedpods forming then doing some hand pollinating would likely be helpful...using a paintbrush is often not necessary, just using something to push the pollen loaded anthers against the stigma will usually suffice...

Ron, thanks again. With the long tube they have, I figured they would need an insect with a long tongue. To be sure, last evening, I went out with a paintbrush & pollenated.
