CLOSED: What in the world is this!!?

I went outside this morning around 5:30 am and this was on my door molding. It was every bit of 3" long.

This is a male dobsonfly (Megaloptera: Corydalidae), Corydalus sp. In spite of its appearance, it is entirely harmless. Female dobsonflies have much shorter jaws, and with greater mechanical advantage, can draw blood if they bite. Their larvae are aquatic and known as hellgrammites.
