Does anyone know the difference between Naturalizing Lilies and Asiatic Lilies??
Thanks
Does Anyone Know??
I'll take a pot shot at this one. The term "naturalize" is used by some vendors to indicate a plant that mulltiplies quickly by division or seed and needs little care. In this case it probably refers to Asiatic because they do increase quickly. In my opinion this word does not apply to lilies because they can quickly become too crowded and will decline unless divided and separated. So much for easy care! Daffodils naturalize.
Thanks....
I bought 40 bulbs over 20 years ago and it got me totally hooked on lilies...
My thoughts have always been....
Okay here's a box of mixed lilies with no names...
Let's put them in a box and call them Naturalizing Lilies....LOL
That's exactly how I think of them in this case. It's one thing to mention a plant's attributes as ''good for naturalizing", meaning = it's going to spread. When it's in a title like that it says to me... ''here's an assortment of stuff and you're going to get a surprises."
But that's just my opinion. :)
There's more...Reds and Orange ones but no pics right now...
Looks like you got a really nice variety. I especially like the second to last pic you posted.
It's one of my favorites too....
I have it planted in my all yellow flowerbed and it's multiplied so much...
I've been away for the past 2 years and they are in desperated need of thinning out again...last did it in 2005
After their done blooming I'll have to dig them up and seperate them....
I don't have any of my Lilies...Asiatic...Oriental or Trumpets listed on my have list...Except for a red/orange one
(Have a beautiful white pixie one that also multiplies like crazy...)
Just some of my daylilies that I have alot of....
The ones I don't have too many of I haven't posted...
I'm a newbie here and have made only a few trades....3 good ones and a bad one...LOL
Still trying to figure out how it all works....LOL
I love that third one, it sure is cuteroo.
