I found this on a petunia today. Anyone know what it is and if I should kill or let it live?

LOL, Andy! I like the color too, but if it's a nasty moth or something like that, I'm afraid it will have to go. Right now it is in a jar with some leaves on my dining room table.

What happened to all our bug experts? Anyone there? ;o)

I was told it is a tabacco budworm.....which turns into a moth. :o( My DS was very disappointed.

Nice to know. I had suspected that this would turn out to be a color variant of an otherwise common species, but I had never seen a pink budworm.

I heard they turn the color of what ever food they are eating. This one was on a pink petunia.
