CLOSED: One more wasp, fairly small with yellow stripes - en masse

Brooksville, FL(Zone 9a)

I have tons of these wasps on my coral vines, I thought they were mason wasps, but that's not what they are. Most of the photos I have they all have their heads down in the flowers, so I hope you can still id them for me.

thanks!

This could be another wasp in the family Scoliidae, such as Campsomeris plumipes - see http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/misc/wasps/scoliid_campsomeris10.htm. The adult wasps are pollen feeders, and may play a minor role in pollination of some plants.

Thanks for the info - I have TONS of these on my flowers - thank goodness, since there aren't many bees here anymore!

thanks for the id!
