Yes, puppy mills are horrid. Thank goodness, they are stopped every time they are found. I hear news all of the time about mills shut down. Even pet hoarders are stopped and the pets are rehomed. Humane Societies are so important.
Funny
I haven't talked to him this morning but I do know that across the creek from his land is a 5000 acre wild life refuge.................one time he left one of the gates open when I called to tell him that our father had had a stroke and tens of thousands of dollars (LOL) went across to the wildlife refuge.
I can't even think about the puppy mills and the way cattle and chicken are treated........I will get too depressed.
Good morning Kim!
Your cousin is a true hunter! He doesn't do it for the thrill of killing. He does it for food for the table. I hope I didn't sound like I was on a soapbox or something. I too believe that animals were put here for the purpose of man's nourishment and helping in the fields etc. Men like your cousin are few and far between anymore. I just get so mad about the ones who go hunting for fun.
I just really get mad when I hear of the inhumane treatment of animals at some of the slaughter houses. I guess it's big business, all about $$. But, I know there are still those out there who have respect for the wild animals and only kill to feed their families.
Oh makshi..LOL..That is the funniest thing...its about right too..LOL...I will be sending that to my sisters..they will get a kick out of it for sure..we are always teasing the one about that happening to her..hee hee
Wow I missed alot too..Gail your daughter and grandkids are all so cute..just like their Nana..sounds like you had a great time with them there...
.too much to comment on all at once..lol...Waving Hi to Everyone : )
Good morning, cedarnest! I am trying to make myself vacuum the house and only have done two rooms (LOL). No one would hire me to do their house! My oldest daughter organized a lot of the drawers, pantry, etc. for me.
Isn't that the funniest lady on the beach that Makshi posted! Cracks me up every time I look at it.
Gail..I just can't quit laughing over that cartoon...so cute!..Oh don't feel bad I couldn't pay anyone enough to try and tackle my house..just hoping nobody stops in unexpected..lol...
Making progress slowly. I only have 3 more rooms to go (don't have many more than that in the house) (LOL)
I just heard that Dolly is a tropical storm and she passed over the Yucatan and is headed for the Texas coast. Although they say she will only be a category 1 hurricane when she hits, that is enough to ruin all the farmers' cotton still in the field. No one deserves any kind of hurricane but I so wish the farmers could be spared.
Very bad about the cotton farmers. I am looking forward to the rain, but very bad for those that do not want it.
Fred just got a wisdom tooth pulled. I just got him home and into bed. He was so funny. Thought he could drive home, UM... NO! ha.
He was under anethesia. Totally out. Hope he feels at least more awake after his nap, I am sure he will.
My son was there in case Fred was really out of it and could not walk. My son is very tall and strong. Just in case. Fred did fine to get in the car.
I had four wisdom's out years ago. Fred only has one and now it is gone.
I am watching the weather channel, then I will go get my nap. This is all hard with my fatigue, but I am so much better than a few years ago.

You can't be a farmer too many years without just learning to be grateful every day for something wonderful you have been blessed with............that is just part of being a farmer.
Hope Fred wakes up a happy camper.........I am sure you can take good care of him.
When the surgeon puts you to sleep for dental work, they don't ever let you go until you are 'coherent' is what they have always told me.
He was pretty coherant, but they can't keep you forever. I remember getting pain shots at the urgent care many times. Even a small child's dose. Fred would have to help me to the car even after lying around for a long time. I can't take pain meds, we finally stopped going. Just toughed out my migraines for years. No pain meds for my surgery and Lithotripsy and that was no fun.
At least Fred can take meds. That is so nice. Yes, I will take good care of him. He has certainly been my "nurse" for years. They were SO sweet at this oral surgery office. Time to nap.
