So.....my first year for growing these beauties!
I have a huge pot with 'Yeltas' and 'Heavenly Blues' growing on my fence. Those vines sure are prolific......they look like they are going to take over the neighborhood, LOL!
The yeltas started blooming almost immediately but the blues.....nothing. Neither seed pkg indicated bloom times.
Thoughts or suggestions?
thank you

Blooming Times
Hi Carole,
Can't tell you exactly how long it took, but my Heavenly Blue did take longer than the purpureas, and even longer than some of the I.nils, but surely worth the wait! The flowers really are "Heavenly" once they start flowering. Absolutely gorgeous!!
Good luck,
Elsa
Elsa,
Thank you for taking the time to answer my 'newbie' question!
Yep....that's why I picked them.....heard they were just breathtaking.
kind regards
carole
Hi Carole,
Welcome to the MG forum!
My Japanese MGs (Ipomoea nil) are all budding up now, and one started to flower today. I planted the seeds out in late May. August will be a big flower show here in my Delaware garden.
I have a couple Ipomoea tricolor vines going, which is the species of Heavenly Blue, and there is no sign of flower buds yet. Plantfiles information on Heavenly Blue indicates I. tricolor flowers up in late summer. Enjoy those blues!
