Hi ..
For 2 years now .. we have been hosts to a rather annoying little 'iridescent' green 'bug' .. I want to say it's a beetle .. but some say no .. it's a tad smaller than a lady bug .. it flys .. it's 'shell' is hard .. and I say ( I am the Queen of SCREAM) that it BITES !!
They seem to like to hang around up in the umbrella on the patio table and then fall into your hair or what you're drinking.
I have a pic but it is totally NOT clear enough I am sure .. I will try to get a better one .
Thanks
~M~
CLOSED: Flourescent Green bug
The bug is a WEEVIL .. asked an Entomologist .. they like Poplar trees and Conifers ..
What a Nuisance !!!!!
Hopefully the cool mornings here will make them want to move AWAY !!!

If it's a weevil, it likely is a broad-nosed/short-snouted weevil (subfamily Entiminae) such as those in the genus Polydrusus, as many of these are green - see http://oregonstate.edu/dept/nurspest/Polydrusus_weevil.htm for an example.
If I were a bettin person I'd say you are 100% correct re genus Polydrusus .. the pic and the pest we have are one in the same .. so .. I guess I had just get used to'em doin the backstroke through my beer !!! LoL
Thanks so much for the link .. it's wonderful :-)
