Mine does look like 'Bonanza' Pixie, thanks .... shame the pictures don't show the subtle but really orange side of the yellow.

Good heavens Pix that's a lot of DLs. What a site your yard must be from now through the end of bloom season. As I was deadheading some DLs this am, before it got too icky out there, I was wondering what people that have a lot of them do. It takes me a long time just to do a few plants and then I quit usually so most get a look at every few days, do you bother with it or just here and there deadhead. Seems that DLs are ruling right now and there have been some great pics by all. Also love the prickly plant pic and monarda w/o the bugs.

I only remember planting the blue sea holly, but not the white .... does it change over the decades?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Maybe it has reverted to one of the parents when it self seeds and so a two tone effect. Very nice in any case..

pollyk: I only have two kinds of japanese iris (a deep purpley blue, and a yellow) and one kind of Siberian iris (see photo) .... and probably a dozen and a half or more bearded.

What a lovely picture! Full clumps of siberian like that can't be beat.

They are awesome! One of the first perennials planted on the property, probably, over 50 years ago.

Thom, I've finally met a Wild Child that I would like to have--not that my son was wild, BUT--being a teacher in his school system, I was probably the last to know! Here is my 1st dahlia--it's either Ripples or Juanita--not sure which I bought.

And I think this is Bahama Mama--very small bloom--hop it gets larger with time.

Beautiful shots from everyone!

Pixie - that is some list of lilies. I can't wait for mine that you gave me at the RU to bloom, so we'll know which one it is. It is about to pop! It made the cut for my Friendship Garden instead of going into the Pixie Garden, which, so far, has been reserved for daylilies. LOL

Willie - what are those prickly flowers? They look a little bit like some type of coneflower. I like 'em.

"After midnight" is just about to pop as well......This is one of the "lost my head" purchases of coneflowers from Garden Crossings last fall. Can't wait to see it fully open!

Robin - those are gorgeous dahlias! I didn't realize they bloom now. This is my first year growing them. A friend gave me a bagful of tubers and I planted almost all of them. All I know is that they will be red. For some reason, I thought they would bloom in the fall. If yours are blooming now, I'm excited to think mine may have some little blooms soon.

Hmmmmm.....interesting! Thanks, Willie

Thanks, Louise. Some dahlias are early, some are much later---I have many that aren't budded yet. I'm glad I went back to part 22--amy, you can have all that daylily that you want--I bought it at Hildene, Lincoln's home in Manchester, VT. It has taken over a large part of my garden--if you come to the fall RU at Candyce's, I will bring it--or you can D-mail me, & I will give it to you another way! Donna--it is pretty if you like orange & doubles---I like pastels with dark eyes---most of what Pixie & Thom post I am drooling for--& of course more than half of the plants all you other folks are posting---what a wonderful group of gardeners!

I know just what you mean, Robin! As I scroll down this thread every time, I always want one of everything I see. I know lust and envy are on the Big Sin list, but shouldn't there be a Big Sin especially aimed at DGers like me who want 'em all?!!! I don't think I could take care of any more gardens than the ones I have, so I am holding back.....very virtuously! LOL

First time I've had a chance to check this thread in a while. I enjoyed all of the pics. I have some daylilies that are starting to bloom. I made a collage to save time in trying to post one at a time. Internet seems to be running slow these days. Eleanor

Oopps! I messed up. This is Fairy Tale Pink. What was labeled Fairy tale Pink in the collage is Seaside Scallop!! Eleanor

I just thought ..... When posting collages though, you have to list all the different names in the text body so you can search the name in the forums search and find it with its picture.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Very pretty, Eleanor! That's a lovely collage!

I'm afraid I don't know the names of any of these, but here are a few in my NOID collection....
