Recognize this lily?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

This poor little lily was found growing out the sides of a daylily. There are 2 other stems and they're all about 1 foot tall. I'm pretty sure there weren't any lilies growing near this clump at the old house. I've checked my journal (no help) and am completely blanking on this one.

Any ideas? It's down-facing and had to lean it way back to get this pic

Moby, I have no idea who it is, but I like it and it can come live with me if you don't want it. :)

I am of no help to you on this one. It's cute though, isn't it?

Real cute. Could it have been at the new house when you moved there?

Is the stem reddish rather than greenish?

Couldn't get a great pic due to the glaring sun, but I'd say the stem has some fine reddish speckling. Not a true green as on some lilies.

Hard to say on this one. All of my Citronellas have these dark stems unique to them. Even when they first come up in the spring they look different from all my other Asiatics. Even my seedlings from Citronella have a dark stem.

Thanks for all the homework and links Andrew ~ it's a real toss-up, isn't it?

Susan ~ not likely that it was here. It's in the big garden that you helped plant with stuff from the old house, and it's coming from under a daylily. So I had to have had it for at least 2 years. I rescued another lily in the same stiuation last night. I was digging around gently and decided at the last minute to just dig the whole clump. Good thing because the bulb was on the opposite side of the bloom! Poor thing grew through about a foot of daylily roots.

What I find so perplexing it that down-facing lilies really didn't appeal to me until the last couple years. So... ? It'll probably dawn on me and it will be one of those "doh!" moments.

I'll try to get a better pic of the stem when the lighting is better.
