Legit Brug or fake eBay auction??

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

I've seen this listing many times on eBay - is it legit?? Seems VERY unrealistic ... altough my eyes are popping out. Anyone know anything about this Brug mentioned in this listing?

Eddie is legit! Sends out great plants

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((elva)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))). So good to see you posting, and I sure hope your brugs. are bloomin'. We had a late spring this year...temperatures in the 30 - 40's at night well into June. Brugs., daturas, all annuals, went into shock and didn't start to grow until the third week of June.

Amanda, I had Super Nova my first year, it died over winter.. (I was such a newbie then), James sent me a cutting last fall and I promptly murdered it. I WILL get one again someday, I HAVE to see a flush with blooms that size, maybe we can work on acquiring a couple.. let me see what I can do ;)

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Guys, guys, I've 'Super Nova' I'm about to donate it away. The first flush of bloom from a cutting last summer, it gave me 2 blooms. Nothing remarkable about S.N. it was a dull creamy white, small trumpet.....and it hasn't bloomed again for me since.....

I'm no expert, just stating my experience. Maybe the condition in which we provide for each brug? SN has not impressed me.

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

I've seen a pretty good flush of big flowers - but it was one I lost a couple years ago in an unexpected freeze. For big blooms I like MEM better. The first year I had it, I wasn't impressed. But once it matured and started putting out the big flushes of those large blooms, it became a keeper for me. Wouldn't want to give it up now! The only thing I'd fault it with is the blooms don't want to open all the way in the daytime. Still, very impressive.... and no one is perfect. :-)

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Case in point. It has to be MATURED! A cutting takes time to "mature" there is no miracle brug. Just the condition, the maturity, the care one provide for them. My 2 cents.

Winston Salem, NC

yes , this brug is real . the pic i'm including has a flower over 23 inches and still is not open . its pushing into the ground and will not open properly .

kong is a heavy bloomer and has maybe 50 more buds on this small plant {3-4 ft high }

Wow!!!!!!!!! My eyes are popping out!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

WOW Eddie, Kongmansta or KongMONSTA? It's HUGE! Nice! I remember last year, Bwilliams posted some brugs he had crossed/grown out and he had a huge white one like that. Please don't be offended by our disbelief, I've been lucky but some of us have gotten burnt buying brugs and plants off ebay. We've learned to ask here, (and we have DG watchdog) so we feel more secure ordering. That is one Big Bloomer, I'll be watching for more posts on that one!

Winston Salem, NC

AuntB, I understand your trepidation with ebay..there are some unscrupulous people about...but, they're not just on ebay...i recently traded with some other DG members (and I sent some of my best) and all I got in return was....nothing, on one trade, I got nothing in return (not even an explanation..no response) and on another trade only one out of three survived because the cuttings were immature and not well rooted, and the packaging was the final blow. .so, know with whom you do trades and keep these forums alive because the more communication the better..... stay tuned...more Kong Mania to come!...Eddie

Wow! I can't wait to see this one opening.

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

Wow Eddie and you are in NC too. Do you have tours.LOL?
Love the bloom at the top.I just gotta plant all mine in the ground.

WOW - Can't believe the size - I'm new to brugs - recently bought a Datura metel w/ purple petticoats - I've only had it about 3 weeks and it's forming its 3rd group of flower buds - it convinced me to look further at Brugs!

Andersonville, TN

WOW! Great to finally see a picture of Eddie... I buy from him on Ebay under the name of Charliesknight! His plants ALWAYS perform for me! However, I found I have to take mine in in the winter... what a job digging a root ball in October. And it seems I always wait until I find out it's going to frost... I want each and every last bloom to be a show piece in my garden. I look like a deer in the headlights out in the garden at night.

an eddie wayne brug in my garden... my absolute favorite!

Wow, finally the real Eddydwayne! Since you got hair, another evidence that you are legit! I have always been happy buying from you off eBay.

Nice to meet you Eddiewayne.

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

Yah..a stand up guy.. with a great product... keep it rolling...
Thanks Gordon

Disputanta, VA(Zone 7a)

can I ask if you have a website that lists all your plants. Sounds like you sell under several different "names" on ebay. I just don't like e-bay, dunno why.
(not sure if that's an ok ?? here on DG)

Orangeburg, SC

I bought from him through ebay and did just fine. My Kongs first blooms hit the ground as well they were so long and heavy. He looks as though it may be putting on a second flush. I can say how pleased I am with the effort this brug puts on. What do you think about crossing it with others like doubles to try to increase the bloom flushes and size? Im gonna give it a try. I have over 15 varities and havent seen a double bloom here yet. I really like Doosie... Maybe one day. LOL Brandy Ps Nice Pic.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

(it's okay, even here on DG, davis :) Eddie, I thought that was you with the bloom, all this time, you remind me of a movie star.... I was thinking Jeff was a very clever plant guy! I can find you on ebay. When I shop your ebay store, are all your plants for sale offered there? Or do you have a retail location, can we call and come shop till we run out of money or car space (whichever comes first)?

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

I apologize ... I hope I've not offended anyone by posting this forum ... I was just wondering if it was legit. You know eBay ... and I'm kind of new at Brugs so I've never had one bloom that large! :)

Sorry Eddie ...

Winston Salem, NC

amanda , no need for any apology . always ask questions before buying anything from me or anyone else . groups like this forum , keep us all informed about what's going on in the brug world .

jumpin4joy, this brug will amaze you , it blooms out alot . it's a heavy and consistant bloomer . i'm also going to use this one to cross to my doubles. i want to see size and consistant blooming on my next generation of seedlings .

davis , i'm new to daves garden and do not know all the rules . i can say i do not have a website open to the public at this time. i do sell on ebay but only under one name .

auntb, i live in the city limits and the zoning here doesn't allow me to sell from this location . i'm a state certified farmer and mainly sell at local farmers markets . i would love to have a meet here this fall for anyone who is close enough to visit. i have asked a few freinds would they help me , but will have to wait and see how it goes .

Andersonville, TN

Nice to see a picture of the real you Eddie.
