What is your #1 Favorite container RIGHT NOW? Here's mine...

Hammond, LA(Zone 8b)

This is a "honey glazed" pot from Lowe's. The large Coleus is "Black Knight" also from Lowe's (I think). The other Coleus are from Badseed here at DG. I bought them in the marketplace.

The container gets full sun from about 2PM until about 7PM and loves it.

Pretty combo and very nice pot

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh dear... I think I have to go to the Marketplace!

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Here are a couple of pots with caladiums and one overflowing with purple heart. They are sitting on a wall right next to the pond. So the sound of running water adds to the overall effect.

Lily, I like groups of pots a lot.

my favorite grouping of pots right now

Ocala, FL(Zone 9a)

This is only my favorite because it's so funny - we call it "Cousin It".

Late in the season, I found a Splitpot and threw in some varigated Sunpatiens on sale. At the last minute I purchased a 4" pot of half-dead, scrawny sweet potato vine as a trailing "accent", tore it into 4 pieces, figuring it wouldn't survive. I've since been hacking off pieces and sticking them in my other annual containers without rooting.

Oh, wow! I absolutely love the white and pink caladiums together. What a great color combo and effect.

dp, those caladiums are gorgeous. Wow!
I really like cousin it! Nice and full and healthy looking plants. Very pretty.

Los Altos, CA(Zone 9a)

Lilium henryi, Canna Durban and Begonia Skaugum. in a tall urn (40 inches). The afternoon light makes the colors glow and the early morning sun behind the canna leaves highlights the red stripes. This is the first year for this pot. I am hoping it will be even better next year when the lily and the canna have bulked up (assuming they survive ). I am surprised how much sun the begonia takes, but the pot does get some shade from a nearby tree after 3 pm.

Chris,

Very nice - I can't help but notice the pots on steps on the wall in the background. I love to do that! I put pots on step-ladders, on bricks, on walls - anything to break up the flatness of an area. I'd love to see the canna, lily, begonia etc. with the pot they're in.

Hi Carrie,

Here's another view showing the pot which is about 40 in tall. This view was taken a bit later with some sun beginning to backlight the canna leaves.

How do you manage all that green grass out there? I like the pot - I like the whole set-up! I like how you've arranged things.

I really like the hollow log thing! Very cool. I ran across one while out walking in the woods one day. I'm gonna have to look for some I can bring home like that.

Very pretty BEV. I really like that combination.
I didn't plant as many containers this year as I normally do. One of my favorites this year is a hanging basket. It has been so full of blooms all year.

Dragon, Stacy , your pots are beautiful

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I love the Blue & white Stacy. BEV

(GayLynn) Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks Tazzy and BEV. I saw these same basket combos done up at HD this spring. They were asking $45 for them! People were buying them left and right. I had the basket, bought the plants and it only cost me $9 to do. Theirs was in one of those cheap white plastic hanging containers to boot. It amazes me what they charge for those pre-planted containers and that people are willing to pay those prices.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

not me like to eat at least once a week^_^
plus i like to be original

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Me too Tazzy. I like to add my own touches. BEV

Ditto!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Stacey, are those lobelia? Mine fried a month ago, at least most of them, i guess i have a few left in the shade that are ok but not as happy as yours! Very very nice.

(GayLynn) Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks carrielamont. Yes they are lobelia. I have, or should say had, some in other containers that fried also. I am surprised that these are looking so good myself.

Hammond, LA(Zone 8b)

Very nice both of you!

Perkasie, PA(Zone 6b)

This my current favorite. I painted the pot with golds and copper to make it shine in the shade. The plants are: coleus, a heuchera, gold Boston ferns, and Creeping Jenny.
Oh, the guy in the background is not part of the plan. :-)
