CLOSED: At least one bug that is destroying my rose leaves

Silver Spring, MD

This is obviously eating my rose leaves, but I'm not sure what kind it is and how to best control it. I had a wonderful display of roses early, but deer, this creature and other aphids have been eating the leaves (either "whole" like this, or in little holes with brown or yellow discoloration). I would appreciate some advice, i've only used rose plant food that I mix with water. This year I also tried a specific rose spray, but I'm not sure it had any real effect (besides I think some deer ate the flowers as I would find petals all over the ground in the morning).

Here is one more view of the leaves and the damage from some insect(s) or bugs.

This is a larva of a rose sawfly (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae), possibly the curled rose sawfly, Allantus cinctus - see http://branchingout.cornell.edu/picturefolder/GRAPHICSCANS/CurlRoseSawflyA.JPG#Photo%20Curled%20Rose%20Sawfly-big
