CLOSED: Butterfly or moth?

This morning I noticed what looked like a black butterfly feeding on a tall weed with tiny pink flowers.

Hi trois! That is the Brazilian Skipper, AKA Larger Canna Leaf Roller.

It and the other canna leaf roller are the reasons that I no longer have cannas. Very familiar with that beastie.

We have gobs of wild cannas behind our big pond. I will check them out AM.
