We went to Richmond this past weekend and there was a nursery called Strange's and gosh they had allot of things but not allot of AV's or there family... My son and husband did picked me up two Gloxinia's which say to take care of the same way as a AV... I have not had the time to check for bug or put bug stuff in there pots or spray them so they are not aloud with the family...LOL I did get the 3 plants my hubby got me for my birthday and the one Alissa has buds on it so I can't wait... Also got a Roulette Azur and one called Faith... pretty neat...
Ok I am off for a few as this has been one heck of a Monday and Tuesday...LOL Kim, you have no water and we had no air... Once we did not have water for 3 or 4 days after a hurricane but we had a pool at the time and also creaks so bathroom was good to go and we had allot of camping stuff so we ate and got pretty clean while without... Hope you get your water back soon.
Hugs,
Susan

I just love the way the blooms on Saddle Shoes stand straight up.

Everyone is busy right now....you wouldn't be busy if you lived in my heat......(LOL)

I have never owned a florist's gloxinia, Susan. They are such a beautiful plant. Sorry you have had no air conditioning. That might be worse than no water............

Would help if I posted a picture of the Gloxinia...duh

Oh, Susan. They are magnificent. Did you know that you can get the seed from The Gesneriad Society for the Small, Charles Lawn, Early Giant mix and other big ones that look like yours! You ought to grow some.

We have it as of this evening... the house is still warm but still is better then outside... Our bedrooms are much cooler and the lights from my flowers did not help the heat in the dinning area but we lived ... BARELY ^_^

These are so big Gail I don't even know where I am going to put these...LOLOL Oh I asked the lady from Brennan's about cutting the seeds off and she said I can cut and put in a container and they will still do great....

Glad you got your air back on and, yes, it is sooooooo hot outside. I got out to fertilize the front porch and am still dripping wet. The yard needs to be mowed again but I 'ain't' doing it.

Susan, I don't understand what you are talking about .........Brennan's and seeds.......

Sorry... I have several streps that have seed pods on them... I asked her if I could take them off of the plant or did they have to brown on them.. She said I can take them off and put them in something and name them and then I can plant when they pop open.... I would just like to get the seeds since I am not having much luck in growing seeds and depending on how many I could share.... Thats it in a nut shell..LOL

Oh, thank you so much, Susan. It is always a problem for me, too! I have some giant ones on Iced Pink Flamingo and I have grown her seeds and they are always fantastic.....How much fun that we can take them off now.
