CLOSED: Good clear shot but what is it

This is a picture I got from my son tim I had one just like it in my kitchen. still don't know what it is I thought it was a katydid but was told not.

Stick to your guns - you're right! It's a katydid. The wings are not fully developed yet, so it is still a nymph, but next go round, it should be a full blown adult.

It's probably one of the so-called false katydids in the subfamily Phaneropterinae.
