Annie's Annuals summer sale has started...

Just in time for some of my wish list items.

I'm bummed that her current sale is only on mail order stuff and not onsite :-( Oh well, I guess those of us lucky enough to live near there get a bargain anyway since onsite prices are always lower than mail order so I shouldn't whine!

You'd better not whine, Liz! You get to go look! LOL Doesn't she have on-site sales as well? I've seen a few of her plants down here and they are waaay more expensive.

She does, just not right now! There's spring and fall planting parties where there's a discount for the day, and then at the end of the year things are usually 20% off for a month or two. I think the end of year sale is usually online as well as onsite.

There, see? Nothing to whine about! Normally I don't plant this time of year, but there were a few things I wanted for containers on my wish list (I do love that feature), so it's very timely.

Okay, it’s online only…whew! The first thing I said when I saw the title of this post was “OH NOOOO!!” My tiny yard has turned into a complete jungle, but any excuse for yet another trip to Annie’s Annuals is so hard for me to pass up. ;-)

Not much, but things I wanted and wouldn't find locally. A Pacific Coast Iris, Rudbeckia "Green Wizard," Salvia dorsiana, and Aquilegia "Rose Barlow."

Ooops, just realized I get 8 plants for the same shipping as 4! Had to go back and get a few more! LOL

Exactly, you and I think alike. DH doesn't, phooy on him!

My order arrived yesterday - the plants look really good. Most of them are going in the cart DH built, so I'll have pictures soon.

Can't wait to see pics! I love that cart he built for you, I know it's going to look great when you get it planted!

Sue--you need to tell DH to get his priorities straight! He obviously doesn't understand what's truly important in life. After all, you eat food and then it's gone, but the plants will be there for you to enjoy for a much longer time!

OMG, so glad to hear I'm not the only one who gives priority to plants over clothing, shelter and food! LOL!

I think most people here on DG will probably lean that way!

Sue, you went there. Is there a sale on site? The website http://anniesannuals.com/ says:

The sale used to be online only when they originally announced it, but recently it's been expanded to include onsite as well. The sale valid online only thing probably didn't get changed when they updated it to be both onsite and online. My weekly emails for the last 2 wks of what's available from my wishlist state that it's now onsite as well as online, and then this week they updated the website to say that too.

Well, shoot, they must have changed it since I went because I didn't get the discount!! man, that irks me.

It was just this week that I saw it on the website, last week it was on the wishlist email but wasn't on the website so I wasn't sure whether to believe it or not, but this week it showed up on the website too so I figure it had to be for real. I haven't gone yet so I don't know for sure, but I don't think they would have changed the website if it wasn't true!

Liz, I went on the 11th, did your email say the sale on site sale was before the 11th? I got the email but deleted it off the server so didn't catch that.

It would have been the email I got on the 10th or 11th that said onsite as well as online (I don't have the email anymore, but I know it was the one from the week before last and I always get them on Thurs or Fri). But I remember going to the website that weekend (12th or 13th) and the website still said online only. Then this week the email said the same thing, but when I went to the website on Sat they had changed it to say onsite as well.

I may participate next year.

I went the day before the the art event. Fun tiles, you should do it next year!

If I lived that close to either one, I'd be in big trouble! I would just have to work there.
