Oh, the humanity!

*sigh*

Below you'll find a picture of our 1.5 month old patio set: crushed today by a 20 ft. fallen limb. No one was hurt (human or kitty), and my two bug repellant planters are unscatched. Though it looks bad, the damage is actually just to the canopy and one chair, not even enough for the home owners deductible.

If that was the only thing that had happened, I think I would be ok. But...

MY COFFEE POT JUST DIED!!!!

Oh WOW!! I can't believe more wasn't damaged. Were you home when that happened? Must of scared you out of your seat with the noise!! Or shocked you when you first saw it, if you weren't home.

Wowsa....so glad noone got hurt ;o) Of course the coffee pot croaking.....now that is just completely unexceptable!!LOL!! I turn into a crazy woman without my caffiene :o)

It happened this morning, when the coffee pot was still functioning. Don't know how I would have survived otherwise!.

Our den is right against this patio and our chairs sit against the outside wall, so we heard this unbelievably loud noise when it happened. Had it been a bigger limb, it would have hit the roof right over our heads...

I discovered the coffee pot disaster 20 minutes ago when I tried to make a half pot of decaf. Too late to go get a new one for tomorrow morning! Luckily I used to be a camper, so I have a french press insert that works with a Nalgene bottle. That combined with a tea kettle means I can make a half pot of coffee, it just takes 20 minutes from start to cup. I may very well have to call in sick tomorrow!

LOL!! about calling in sick ;o) Oh I'm so glad it didn't hit your house...whewww

I was in my livingroom when I was a kid during a lightening storm and all of a sudden I heard the loudest CRACK, it scared my dog so much he jumped over me and the couch in one leap (mind you he was a pomeranian, so that was quite the feat) anywho the lightening hit a tree in my backyard and split that tree right down the middle!! Needless to say I don't like the sound of thunder and lightening anymore.

When it rains...it pours, or doesn't, in the case of your coffee pot! Good thing you have a back-up. Our blender suddenly quit two days ago. What's with these appliances!

Wow, luckily more damage wasn't experienced..looking at your gazebo, much the same happened last year..I managed to salvage the 4 corners and ended up with 2 lovely arbors...so not all was lost...

I've made the best of the situation, and took the opportunity to get the coffee maker I've drooled over the past 6 months. It'll grind the beans for me in the morning right before it starts the auto-brew cycle. LOVE!

I'd go to the store and pet it every now and then, but couldn't rationalize buying it when my current coffee pot worked. Gotta find that silver lining!

It must be going across the country as my dishwasher stopped! Thank goodness for daughters! LOL

Can relate to the limb coming down. Glad nothing or no one was really injured by that.limb. I lost several pots on my upper deck a couple of weeks ago due to big limbs coming down. I'm still finding pieces in the yard.
