Has any one heard of the Chaste tree? I think it is Virtex-negundo I have seeds if anyone wants any. They have a smell all their own

Yes, the Chaste Tree is Virtex...I have a young one too. How did you collect the seed from it?

Kelly after the blooms are gone the seeds dry out and you can just pull them off. All the blooms should be gone by now and the seeds are dry. Has yours bloomed yet? I have lots of seeds but am waiting until spring to try and plant them

I think your Vitex seed (Chaste Tree) may need to be given some cold treatment to germinate. John

Yes, mine has bloomed....I thought it was around the spent flowers...but never saw any...they must be small. Thanks for the info! Oh, my plant is still blooming a little.

i have purple and pink variety-When i got my first seeds i never did any cold treatment-i just planted them-I have over 15 bushes about 4 foot high this year!! not collecting seeds-so i may have lots of babies next year! =]
