Oh for goodness sakes.

You absolutely outdid yourownself this time, Paul from AL.
That musta been about 6 stories in one, but the best part was you and your granny riding around with the top down.

Remember those T top Thunderbirds??

Knowing you and reading your stories are rare treasures, Paul. I hope you know how much I truly enjoy them and you.

Here's a photo for your sister's dogs....

Thanks Sharon.....Getting granny into the car was easy, getting her out was well, not so easy.......:)
My granny's next door neighbor when I was kid had a son who was a dentist, he had one of them Thunderbirds (if I remember right it had one of them little round windows) and always rode around with a blonde that had real long hair and wore some kinda hat, I never rode around with a blonde, just 4 brunettes and a redhead......:)
The dentist's mother is the lady that always made the apple pies with apples from the trees in granny's backyard, if I saw any of the ladies in the neighborhood picking up apples off the ground in the backyard, I knew I was in for a treat........

I'm so glad you enjoy the stories.....I remember the first time you wrote me, it was about you understanding my 'speech' and about you just beginning to grow roses.......I'm so happy I've gotten to know you too and your Aunt Bett......You know what, I bet me and you could swap places and never even miss a beat.....Of course I'd have a hard time walking in high heels at the yearly Yacht Club shindig ......:)

You did not disappoint me Paul, now that was a car to be dreamed of, girls or no girls..lol..best I could do was a 63 olds Starfire...such a pretty color of pink/mauve, convertable..yep, drove a few good looking guys around as well..no skin irratations, just little bit of sweating..lol

Probably so, Paul....well, I gave up high heels a long time ago so that isn't a real worry.

Yes, it did have a round window thing, the T Bird. I never liked the guy that had it though, so I passed up all invitations. That was during my college days, and I never liked guys that were shorter than me. He was. Very. Went around thinkin he was Napoleon, kinda like a banty rooster.

My daylilies are calling me today, new ones are cropping up every morning. The trouble with daylilies is that you have to catch them as they bloom else they are gone by nightfall. Now I have about as many photos of daylilies as I did of Alaska.
Something like an obsession.

You really should not have mentioned apple pies. There is an appletree just next door to me, right against my property line. It's in my side yard and his back yard. Now I figure he won't miss a few apples that make their way over onto my side. Ya think?

Betty, everyone should have or ride around in a convertible on a spring day at least once......or a Jeep with the top down and the windshield down, but that's another story......:)

Sharon, I only knew two guys who owned Corvettes in our area years ago and didn't much care for either of them......I made up my mind when I got my Corvette I wasn't going to be a handsome, rich, stuck-up, conceited, self-centered ladies man.....and sure nuff I wasn't.....wasn't handsome, wasn't rich, wasn't a ladies man.....When I set my mind to do something, I do it.......:)

I got a beautiful day lily I want to show you, going to try to catch it today with my camera....its a burgandy/red one and so pretty.....I saw one of yours and it looks kinda like the one you showed me I think.....

As far as the apples go, think community property.......:)

Looking forward to the Daylily picture.

Oh Boy Paul..that storie brought back some memories..
My first husband had a 72 corvette with the tops that came off.
It was a beauty! Lots of fun cruising ..but we were married then...
Before we were married he had a pretty blue '56 Ford convertible.
I can visualize it now....ahhhhhhhh those were the days....

I so enjoy your stories...things we can all relate to in some way.

Cheers,
Carol

Sharon, well sometimes mother nature doesn't always co-operate....but it looks like my 'daylily' might actually bloom today...maybe I'm growing an 'every-other-day-daylily'.......:)
I'm keeping my eye on it, probably doesn't want its picture taken, kinda like me......:)

Carol.....So glad you enjoyed the story and that it brought back some good memories for you...I'd like to have seen that '56 Ford convertible, sounds like a jewel......
