What great photo's!!
Mine's been blooming for a couple weeks.
I took some pix also, but alas, can't compete with yours - they're fabulous.
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful tree.

My stewartia rostrata completed blooming about the time the pseudocamellia started.

Ow! Got pollen in my eye from that first one...and can't keep the bees away from the screen here.

Weerobin:

Post away! No such thing as competition - complementary, more like.

Can't have too many Stewartia (Stuartia if Resin is watching) pictures on a thread. It is especially informative to observe the same species grown in quite different conditions, to see how the plant behaves. Double that by comparison of the related S. pseudocamellia with S. rostrata or others. I'd say not everyone knew their relative bloom sequence. Throw in some landscape compositions to see how folks have sited and partnered these species, and, well...I'll be in Theaceae heaven.

Thanks - I will.

Then, here's a picture of my stewartia rostrata (from last month).

And the buds of s. rostrata have a distinctive rosy hue.

I'm tellin' ya - photogs born every minute.

Now, when I'm moseying down the street in the neighborhood and I casually pass by the odd Stewartia (they're everywhere, you know), if I notice the rosy hue I'll be able to mentally note, "That's obviously a Stewartia rostrata, not simply a common old Stewartia pseudocamellia."

Well done.

Must...find...S. rostrata...

After a few Buds, I have a rosy hue too. You too?

Very nice photos!

In the spirit of complementary information, my Stewartia pseudocamelia started blooming on June 8 and finished blooming on June 26.
