Just wanted to say THANK YOU! to Jacksonville RU folks!

East of Nacogdoches, TX(Zone 8a)

Anyone needs to be veeeery careful and thoughtful before agreeing to surgery of any type. Not all health care is equal, even if the education of the provider is. Ask local nurses who they'd recommend.

Dallas, TX

I have always opted for the surgeries because I hate being in pain. I had a bone spur in my heel, but my doctor at that time told me to deal with it and it would eventually go away and it did.... but when the hip went out I could not take it anymore. The steroids stopped working, the pain pills had me crazy ... I know you guys heard about me at the College Station RU two years ago, going back and forth to the car to take pain pills, locked myself out the car, then I fell asleep in the car, woke up and practically everyone had gone. LOL Did not know where i was staying, had to call SheilaFW to come and get me. LOL. I was a mess .... I knew it was time to get this hip replaced. LOL

Hugs Ted, remember what I said about AV's on Monday. She was a very dear and special lady. If there is anything I can do, let me know.

Thanks all. Ya she made it to 95 and only 13 days away from 96. She wanted to go out with a bang, so she picked the 4th of July. She knew the lord so they were celebrating.
Service is Sat at 5.00 pm. I am now into African Violets, though I will not be as great at as she was.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, I don't think the apple fell far from the tree, my friend.

I agree with eyes even though I'm not up your way and have only talked to you in person twice as I think you were in Arlington last October too.

My grandmother used to raise African violets her house had them all over including the 2 4 tier shelfs in tech basement ...it's amazing just how much you really know and can do because of what a grandma or mother did in their life that has flowed over into you. ( not to mention it helps having her notebook with notes in it for things)

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

I've been wanting to mention this......A BIG thank you to whomever provided the beautiful big African Violet in the pretty pot for the door prize at our RU. You will never know how much I love it. It is the pride of my kitchen, over my sink, and I'm giving it lots of TLC now that Phyllis told me how to care for it! It was a wonderful gift, and I appreciate it. Love, Karen :)

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

You are most welcome Karen.

Ted....Just now getting back to this thread and read of your loss. I know you will miss your Mother. She had a very long life and I am sure plenty of precious memories you will no doubt hang on to in the future. We at DG and especially in TX, appreciate you and your generosity. I am sure you got a lot of that character building at her knee. My prayers are with you and the family at this time my friend.
