What a WONDERFUL day! I can't remember when I've enjoyed myself so much, and I just wanted to thank EACH of you for your kindness and generosity. I was so proud when I unloaded my car tonite, I can't believe I was given all these wonderful plants!
Special thanks to Phyllis, Mibus2, for all the hours of hard work she put in both organizing this and working so hard today. We appreciated it Phyllis.....
A very special thanks to the lovely lady that provided my birthday cake, I was tickled pink. My own DH never thinks to get me a cake, and sure 'nuff, he didn't today, so I appreciated the gesture so very much! Sorry I didn't get the thank you in person. I'm enjoying it with coffee as I type :)
Hope everyone had as much fun as I did, and we must do it again this year...So many lovely people. DAR, thank you for driving as far as you did from OK to just give away such lovely plants...I appreciate the trip you made :)
Love and hugs to all of you, such sweet people, and thanks for making this the most memorable birthday I've had in years! Love, Karen
Just wanted to say THANK YOU! to Jacksonville RU folks!
I echo all of Karen's 'Thank Yous'. This was a great day seeing old friends and making new ones. Everyone was so generous and of course I could talk plants all day every day. All my new babies are unpacked, going to get a nice drink of water, and at first light, I will start getting them in the ground or pots.
Thanks and big Hugs to everyone!!!!!!!!!
Aren't RU's the niftiest thing since sliced bread.I'm so glad you you had a great time, DK! Happy Birthday to you and Ken!
Ditto on the thanks to Mibus, she worked her tail off for all of us! Would have have been nice if I showed up to help her as promised...I am soooooo sorry!
I had fun...already planing what cuttings I'll do for the next RU.LOL see ya'll then ;0)
Driving home today and it started raining 30 miles from the house. Thanks everyone for a wonderful time and to see old friends again. As always went home with a load.
We hit that rain too, Ted.....beautiful god given gift. Phyillis , you are a gift to us too, and my hat is off to ya gal.

Y'all are very welcome as long as everyone had a good time that is what was important
Was great to meet new faces and see familiar ones.
Karen and Ken Happy birthday to ya both..hope ti was a birthday well spent.
Oh please, send some of that rain way.
"Eyes", my DH went out nosing around in my plant goodies. I knew he would come back in begging me to have this or that plant. Sure nuff, I heard him yelling "what is this cool thing?", know what is was? Your hubbies sculpture! LOL He said it was awesome! I think the same :0) Took the focus off him taking my plants too.lol
oh dang I missed the sculptures and I so wnated to see them up close ...oh well next time.
Oh yes, Phyllis was awesome. I can still see her organizing the table of door prizes, etc. Everyone put in lots of precious time, thought and effort in preparing for this event. Generousity was evident everywhere.
Created a good vibe.
Yes, I concur! Thank you all of you for the wonderful time and Phyllis for all her hard work keeping it organized. Sorry I had to run out of there so quick. I told my hubby that I would have time to go out to the round up and also take some stuff to the landfill that desperately needed to go since (no hitch on his vehicle). I got home just in time to get our trailer hooked to my vehicle and arrive at the landfill just before they closed at 4:30.
The rain is heading y'all's way.....thanks cocoa...I think John does a wonderful job on them too. Maybe next time we can actually plan a time for him to show anyone who wants to know how to make them. Y'all know what we didn't get ...a group photo.
"eyes"
Phyllis I sure hate I missed your RU ... next time you have one, I will have a car that I can trust.
... and I have always wanted to go to Tyler too. With all your energy I know everyone had a great time ... I hate it when I miss a RU!
Yes, Thank You Phyllis for all that work! We had a great time and I am so happy to have met, however briefly, all of you.
I am sorry I wasn't able to spend more time chatting. We did go to Emma's to get the potentially big banana plant for Ken (and a couple other things while we were there). Then we stopped at Dave's (Ddetex) for a tour of his woodland paradise. All I can say about both places is - WOW! One in town, one in the woods, and both gorgeous. I know all gardens are works in progress but to me the 'finished' and 'unfinished' parts of each show how a gardeners' imagination, wit and vision can come together to produce such a treat for the eyes and other senses. Bravo to both.
Now, I can hardly wait to see what everyone else is doing in their gardens :~)
Oh, and Phyllis, I Dmailed you regarding Ken's purloining your plant. I am mortified :~(

Well Cocoa, nobody's gettin' MY sculpture from John and Eyes...LOL! It is in a place of honor, my computer desk, so I can look at it constantly. Eyes, Hubby and DD are amazed but I slapped their hands and said "No,no"! I just love it, and appreciate you both so much!
Maggi just replied to ya and honey it is okay ...well sorta LOL....at least we know where it went and I KNOW WHERE HE LIVES *Evil Laugh*
Since this was my first RU, I had no idea as to what to expect. WOW
It was lots of work to make it happen so thanks to all.
Thanks to Dave for planting the seed and begining the post. I am sure he did many other things to make this successful. Just having "The Dave" and Trish made it special.
Thanks to Emma's DH Jerry for the signs and banner that made us look so professional. Guess you noticed my special sign too.
Thanks to the folks that donated the nice gifts for the door prizes. We should remember them and tell them thanks when we visit their places of business. Maybe we can list them so all will know.
Thanks to Mibus2, Ms. Organization. You did so much and worked so hard to make this happen. You are a wonderful gal and hope you have a chance to relax and rest now. Bah and poop-poop to the one(s) that gave her grief on the door prizes.
Thanks to Charlene for bringing you litttle yellow wagon and sharing it with others to load and unload their many great plants. Hope your knee is not giving you problems today.
Thanks to 6841-Keith for helping me and so many others load and unload.
Thanks to Yardboy-Wayne for being the chief cooker of the hotdogs.
Thanks to all who made the special foods to share with us.
Thanks to all who brought us those special plants that we just had to have and have looked for for so long.
Thanks to those who became instant friends and allowed us to put faces with these crazy names we use on here.
Thank God for the rain that gave our new treasures a much needed drink just at the right time.
I hope all arrived home safe and sound with many plants that thrive and give us joy for years to come. In the next few days we will play with our new plants and discover things that we did not even remember we got or ask for. May we all contiue to have surprises that fill those special garden spots. In the hussle and hurry of getting things to those other gardeners I only wish I could have had more time to really get to know more of you. I wish more could have come by my place and get some more things. We now know each other so more than anything enjoy the new friends of the DG family.
So this is what a RU is all about. I had a great time and enjoyed it all. I was worn out and hit the sack earlier than usual so I could dream of the friends I made and the special plants. Hope we can repeat this again in October as planned.
Thanks to all of my old and new friends,
DdeTex
PS Also, check the other posting as we need to assist another DG friend in need-Aggie girl in Lufkin.
Well said, DD...Bravo!!!

Thank you all! I was so late and "out of it" as my 2 yr old got up seven times the night before, but I had a great time! It was a lot of fun meeting you all and thanks so much for your generosity and time.
Looking forward to the next RU!
a
Oh my goodness all I can say is a big THANK YOU to EVERYONE! I was blown away by everyones kindness. I'm new to these Round Ups but I promise to be much better and more organized for the next one.
That was the best thing since slice bread. Free plants, free food, free advice, fellowship, and lots of new friends.
I would like to say thank you to Dave and all the others that put so much time and thought into pulling this off. Everyone that had a hand in this did and OUTSTANDING job! The door prizes were much appreciated also.
Thanks for bringing a long lost family member to the round up too. The little German lady is my niece by marriage. My nephew died several years back and I had lost contact with her so that was a very special surprise. I tell ya, it's a small world after all!
Happy Gardening Everyone and I can't wait till October or whenever we have another RU.
Marian
I have to say ya'll have covered everything soo nicely,... especially you David that there is nothing for me to add!!
This was my 2nd RU, and I am sooo addicted now!! Of course meeting all of you was the best part of these RU's but everything else is a fantastic bonus... and memories that will last a lifetime!! Thanks everyone for a wonderful day!!
Becky
I can't believe this was my 1st RU, why I haven't gone before I don't know. It was lots of fun. Thank you to those who worked so hard putting this together. Phyllis, the Energizer Bunny, you're the best! That was my 1st real outing after the surgery and boy was I pooped but I really did enjoy it. Thanks to all of you who shared your plants, isn't that what being a gardener is all about? Now I have a good idea how to prepare for the next one as some of you were completely organized.
Where are the pictures?
Shirley, your a trooper, I'm glad you could make it!
Sylvia (missed you at the RU), here are some http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/870183/, none that equal you on the back of the lowboy. Tho, I was thinking today would have been a good laugh to get a pic Lorraine sitting on the top of a car.lol
Thanks Shirley I am so glad you made it ..maybe next time you can be the bunny and I will be slow since I go to the doc Monday to see about my foot and surgery on it....it sure throbbed Saturday night LOL..no not asking for sympathy I'm a big girl it's my own fault *L*
tips for next time for being prepared ( just from my experience this last year):
when doing the lists on here make a hard copy on paper as you give your trades away
That way you can label or write on the pots &/or bags.
That way when you get there you can get them over to who ever they are for and any extras you bring can be put out in front of your spot.
Put your trades back behind you to keep them separate from the extras or put them in your car so you don't have to haul them off at the end.....(weather permitting so not to fry them).
Past experience so far for me is that if you do not have a list of what you are giving to who and they aren't labeled you will forget and not many think to make a list of what they are getting from someone else.
I'm just happy everyone had a good time and next time we plan for more visiting with each other and less running :-)
Mibus I recieved some brugs in the mail and they used some hot pink like ribbon. It is 1.98 at Lowes and used to rope off areas. Item number #158475 Roll Flagging "pink glo". It is with the tools and they have lime green. 1" x 200 feet. would be great to put the persons name the plant goes to and tie on the plant if big enough. Just a thought out loud to myself.
You did a Great Job. TY for everything and TY's to everyone who helped make it so great.
Blessings,
Sandy ^8^
thanks Sandy will have to look into that ..then he could watch for the tape too ...anything to protect things until he gets used to plants other then the weeds and trees being everyplace LOL
And you are most welcome I'm glad you enjoyed it
Since this was my first and only RU, I have nothing to compair it with.
Seems like most wanted more visiting time to get to know each other. So here are some thoughts for October.
Select an area that will allow us to unload our plants close to our cars/trucks. This will make for easier loading and unloading plants. We can pack our plants received away to avoid confusion.
So that all can "know" other DGers, maybe try to go in order as we pass out and get our things. This would cause us to be more organized with our things and also have a face with the plants we get so we could ask about growing conditions and names of things. We may need current or ex teachers in charge to make the folks get in line :).
Just thoughts as I will start to scout out a place for us in Oct. I am still enjoying my treasures and finding special places to plant them.
I wish more could have visited my garden as I have many other things to share. Any of you that want to come by can give me a buzz and come see me.
DD
DD, I'm going to take you up on that offer. Nextime I'm coming to Hughes for some 3B, I'll give you a call and make sure you are going to be home. Saw some post from people who visited and it sounds like a treat. Pam
Mibus I would suggest that we have a person in charge of the door prizes and personally hand them to each winner. That would clear up the confusion we had at this RU with door prizes gone missing. I will volunteer, or perhaps a husband/wife of a DG'r whose not busy with trading....Perhaps we could even have a "break" where everyone gathers and gets their door prize. Just my .2
Pam-come on down, you may win a prize.
Karen-you come too. Also like your idea for us to have a person to oversee the door prize area and be in charge. Meaning do it as they want to do it. Think I nominate you as the person in charge of it.
DD
Well Karen your 2 cents just got ya a job for next time...hahahahaha
if you didn't make it to DD's then yes you have to go by it is wonderful there.
Mibus, good luck at the Drs. I had reconstructive ankle surgery 1.5 yrs ago at Azalea Orthopedics and highly recommend them. If you are not going there and need a second opinion, try them.
my doctor sent me to a podiatrist back in march with ETMC and I have plantar factitious in my right foot ..he gave me an injection and it did help but it has "worn off" ....instead of wasting money on half way treatments I figure why not get the surgery to "fix it" and be done with it so hopefully the apt tomorrow will get the ball rolling to get it done so I am ready to drive again when school starts the end of august.
phyllis.. I had that and a heel spur in the left foot... the surgery took care of real good! I also had a heel spur on the right foot.. they had to cut my achelies tendon to get to the spur, then stretch and sew the tendon back in place... that one was very painful!! And I am still having trouble 3 yrs later..Hope it's the spur on the bottom of your heel for you!! Sorry don't mean to worry you... but i didn't ask enough questions until after... please ask questions!! Some dr.'s and people don't believe in podiatrists.. but if your feet hurt bad enough you believe in anything that will give you relief!! I am mad at you though... why didn't you tell me and I would have helped you at the RU?? HUMMM???
oh I have a bone spur on the heel too but it points in a direction that it isn't suppose to be a problem, but the ligament/tendon whatever it is is a problem again and I have been doing the exercises like they said and bought new shoes and inserts..
Honey get mad and get glad and get over it ...ROFL
HUMPH!!! Where's that TONGUE thingy when I NEED IT!!..LOL
Mibus2 my friend had ultra sound at my chiropractor at the time instead of surgery. It worked for her. No surgery and 8 yrs later doing great still.
Beck they was going to do that for her...doc late coming for surgery and she chickened out. Great thing as ultra sound worked, We had heard what you experienced and now meet you and I am happy she tried ultra sound.
She is on her feet all day long.
Sorry that happened to you beck, I have a failed back surgery and WOW wish I knew that what I do now, Worse now than before surgery.
Mibus2 some drs are great and if your sure I pray for the complete restoration. You may have a great one. For my back I did not.
Blessings,
Sandy ^8^
Sandy... I also have a sgrew in my hel where he reattached the tendon... I really thing that is part of my problem... OHHH it was way worse that haveing my children... I have NEVER had that much pain in my life! I am mainly referring the first 24 hrs... the Dr said I wouldn't feel any pain as it would be NUMB...WHERE?? lol
So glad your friend's US worked... there are alternatives if we look, but when you are IN pain you just want it to go away..
My DH... if you might have noticed.. was wearing a back brace thingy from walmart... he just had his 12th !!! back surgery and then 5 weeks later he had hip replacement. The hip was 7 weeks before the RU. Now the back surgeries are to repair previous surgeries or scar tissue etc. The Dr don't tell us what to expect down the road because of the surgeries they are making big bucks on now
