Thanks Holly; I like your idea for a filter using a milk crate and barley straw. Great idea. I've got to do something like that. My pond water was crystal clear when the ice had just melted from the surface, we could see our goldfish very clearly. But now it is turning green already and it is only April!! We will get our new pump and UV going and with a home made filter I hope it will clear up. Since we built our pond last summer we have been fighting green water...leaks...you name it!! It seems like it has been trial and error since the beginning. BUT, I have been told that it will get better...I hope so! I want to see my fish!
