CLOSED: Problem...it's on everything...what is it?

Whitehall, WI(Zone 4a)

I need to know what this is and what I can do about it. It wasn't there on Monday, but now there are brown spots on just about everything, some worse than others. Is it too late???
Thanks for any info!

I doubt that beginning gardeners are going to be much help. Most plant diseases attack only certain plant families. To compare with the animal kingdom, diseases of hogs don't necessarily make chickens sick. In fact, it would be remarkable if they did. Are you saying that unrelated plants are ALL developing this condition? There must be a forum for plant problems. My guess is that you'd have better luck trying one of them. I'd be frantic if that were happening to all my plants. Hope you get some help- and SOON!

I wonder if it could just be from water splashing up onto the leaves--this can happen when you (or Mother Nature) use overhead watering, and the problem can be made worse if you're watering in the evening, or if it's been kind of soggy or humid in your area lately. That's one of the few things I can think of that would be causing widespread problems across a number of plants, as dp72 pointed out many fungal diseases tend to only infect certain groups of plants.

Thanks, I will try posting in anouther group. It has been raining a lot lately and when it's not raining it has been warm and humid. Sounds like good conditions for bad news!

I bet it's just related to all the moisture you've been having, lots of rain followed by warm humid weather creates perfect conditions for fungal growth. The Garden Pests and Diseases forum would probably be the best place to start if you want more info.

ecmama, I have the exact same thing on a lot of my plants... trollius, bee balm, anemone, and it killed one of my columbines. I've been tearing off the affected foliage, and it just makes me sick! If you do find out elsewhere what this crap is, please post back! I've been spraying Immunox, but I don't know if it's helping...

Has someone diagnosed your plants as having a fungal disease, and does the label of Immunox list that fungal disease as one that the product can eliminate?

No dx; I'm just shooting in the dark.

That's certainly your business.

Can't let it kill more of my babies!
