MGarr, I get that evil looking thing in my garden, I used to get the smaller type in green in UK, but we murdered them because they would murder our leaves - I think those big black bugs do the same thing here, so guess what I do with them!

They only eat a little bit of each leaf. Shame on you for not wanting to share. Only kidding. I found him on a tree by a small lake. Notice the bark. MY black bug was a little different, solid black.
