I sure dont I am thinking about calling them and canceling my last order. What was I think I need 350 birds. At least maybe the keets cancel them.
You know Tia....if you really think it is more than you can handle or get into right now, you should call right away. You would be a lot better off than taking on way too much way too soon and you are doing yourself no favors by getting into more than you can deal with. Sometimes when it really is too much and you can't get to everyone or you are spread so thin taking care of everyone, you might not have as much time to notice if there is something wrong with some and you might lose them. If it is too much, I don't think you will be able to enjoy what you are doing.....and then what is the point?
Not coming down on you, so I hope it doesn't come out that way.......I want to see your heart soar at what you are doing....not drop.

i am trying to figure out what happened to my duck order.... but i am afraid to call and ask... i might end up with keets LOL
LOL no i dont feel like you are coming down on me, I have all the time in the world, I dont work outside the "farm". So really time is not the issue. Its the space, I do have it at my moms, I just need to go up there and see what I can "rig" up for now. And the $$$$. I have already gone thru 2, 25 lb bags of feed and the oldest are at 20 days old. I want the pullets tho. And hoping when they say they are assorted they are not crested or bantams. i have plenty of them. I have the byc now and maybe I can get some of the crested sold off there. And my mom would probably take on maybe about 20 of them up in her coop, but we got to get them old enough to go in with her 3 yr old hens. She could do with the small to med size eggs. AND that dang snake is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO maybe keep the keets so they will get rid of the snakes. I just dont know.
sounds you got a lot of thinking to do....it can be hard to figure it all out, I know. Maybe you will get some sold and get rid of the snake and things will fall into place as far as what you should do. I hope so. Have you been able to get 50 lb bags of chick starter yet? Just wondering.

nope the place I am getting starter from is only 25 lb bags and now I find out the other store I was going to use is going out of business, so I guess it will be going to shawnee to the feed mill. But I have to do that when DH is with me it comes in barrels. It wouldnt be so bad if this family reunion wasnt this weekend, that I planned, we are doing simple but mom wants this and that done and i still have my house to clean. and coops to build and...............Im venting, I always do this.

Oh sweety I am not pointing fingers, anyway you know what they say if u point a finger at someone there are 3 others pointing back at yourself. :) I am much better now. I am going to go ahead and keep my order. I can do it, We will have all day sunday to get it ready for them.
;-) i am beat, mine came a day early [well AND a week early] and i drove to amarillo to pick them up... wasn't sure they would have made it till morning since they hatched Wdnesday... beautiful birds, about 10 each of brown leghorns, black australorps, ameracaunas, buff orpingtons, and RI ror production reds, will have to check their web site.
then plenty extras in the asstd bantams, everything you could possibly imagine... still need to finish tending to them. been a long day.
