More temptation!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

I tols ya, I knew better than look here. If all the other 2 batches all live I will have 240 chicks. I have got to be insane. Changing name to looneychick

Novinger, MO(Zone 5b)

HA! HA! HA! I'll tell ya, there never was a better name for a thread! Tia..... I think it is oh-fish-ul......your mind has done gone to the birds!! urrrr, chicks at this point. Glad I'm not the only one that has or is gonna have chicks EVERYWHERE! LOL : )

and let the chicken fairy's baby chicks continue to spread far and wide!!

Christy

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

lol i like that far and wide. We shall see, the brooder I have now can keep them ALL for another week or 2 but that would be it. i will be talking to friends and others that are not so friendly and see who want chicks. I will get them past the 1st couple of weeks and go from there. I have boards I can put up notices on.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

posting a notcie is a great way to meet other poeple who like chicks. so far all who have responded have had them before, or their mom or grandpa did, and they are SO SO grateful to be able to get some!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Yea, and some may not know how to or want to order in the numbers we do. Especially good to do this when we can get them at a discount so they dont have to ummmm "get rid" of them.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

i will NOT confess to, or even bothe rcounting, how many CHICKs/CHICKens i have...

yes the chicken fairy likes rescuing chicks... btw, i wonder how my reward fro the chicken fairy is coming? ...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Saved by not enough birds at xtremes, they were short.

Ferndale, WA

Hey luvs2garden2000 If it's laying hens your interested in, you should take a look at the red stars. Murray Mcmurray Hatch. Layer for layer they are by far the best. They are also very friendly. At least take a look. They are wonderful birds. have a great day. P.S. thanks for the positive comments on my Roos names. Haystack.

red stars are red sex links right or is that red comets

Lodi, United States

I think they are all the same--basically. Depends on the hatchery--they like to develop their own strains.

Haystack, i looked at them, a bit pricey, will have to wait a bit tho, maybe this fall i might. All depends on how soon I can get the coop built.

I got a set up now, the tubs were 9.95 and the hand towels were 2.79 for 6 it took 6 to cover the bottom, diaper pail, which I forgot to get not sure cant be more than 10 bucks. the stones 1 buck. per waterer. Clothes line to dry the towels. Will keep them in the house for a little bit. Shoot these guys look better than any chick I have ever seen.

Novinger, MO(Zone 5b)

Wow Tia, they are so cute! It looks like you got a good assortment.....any idea what they are yet?

Ok, spill the dirt.....how many does your DH think are coming?? : )

Christy

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

He doesnt. I have no clue what they are, I was hoping ya'll would tell me what I got. I do see some spots on the yellow ones heads, Roo?

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Put 3 of the new chicks out in the brooder, gosh they fit right in. No problem, I'm sure has nothing what so ever to do with the table scraps in there, even the new ones went right for the slice of bread.

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

I am SOOOO jealous... they are so cute...

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

awwwwwww I will share, well as far as photos. I am going to put them all out there , they are peeping their heads off in the room and not a peep out of them outside(to busy eating the scraps), its so humid and I have a light and blanky for them.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Do you think he will notice 160 more????? No way the other 100 will fit in that brooder. Dang it. Cant hide it unless he comes home late again. and again. I put the 60 out there minus 5 I am watching int the house, Oh gosh it is a flurry of birds, at one end that is the lighted part is totally empty. They are eating. They even have a pet. A frog got in there. I cant get him to save his life. I am not real sure who is more scared.

Novinger, MO(Zone 5b)

oh my gosh....I bet the frog in there is a sight! And they are scared of each other, oh boy. I bet that is over with quickly!

Maybe it's good it's hard to count so many moving little balls of fluff?? Of course, once he hits over a hundred or so I think the jig is up! Glad I'm not in your shoes right now......(sheepish grin)

Christy

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

lol Oh gee thanks they are happy as hogs in ...........

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)
