I found some newly formed white areas in the shady part of my garden today. I'm located in NW Ohio. The white egg-like mounds are laying on cocoa garden mulch and leaves laying in the erea. Fungus? Bug eggs? Frog eggs? Should I remove it or leave it be? The area is moist with all the rain we have been getting lately. I've never seen these in my garden before.

CLOSED: Eggs or fungus growing in cocoa mulch!
This might be a slime mold in an early stage of development - see http://www.freewebs.com/slimemold/sm2.bmp and http://www.plantpath.iastate.edu/pdc/files/Image/slime%20mold%20on%20turf%20copy.jpg for examples.
