Does anyone recognize this little creature that my friend found?
As seen in the pic, there seemed to be more than a couple of them...
Thanks!
CLOSED: Yellow creature...possibly nymph....
These appear to be larvae of tortoise beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae; subfamily Cassidinae). These larvae often attach their fecal pellets to specialized setae on their bodies as a means of camouflage - see http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/chatham/ag/SustAg/GSFgraphics/tortoiselarvapupaweb.jpg and http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/53139720 for examples.
That's it!....
Think I found a match, but they don't list the species...that I saw...
