CLOSED: Please help Identify

Redwood City, CA

Have found 4 of these in my home and for the life of me can not figure out what it is. Bug is about 1 inch long by 1/3 inch wide. Flies, looks sort of fly like, but the wings are hard (clanks when they fly into lights and windows)

This is a long-horned (in spite of its relatively short antennae) wood-boring beetle (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in the genus Xylotrechus. See http://picasaweb.google.com/andy.gale/InsectsMay2006ToJanuary2007/photo#5102664843240409106
Their larvae may be found in live oak, black oak, and sometimes in eucalyptus and madrone, or in walnut or stone-fruit trees in orchards. They may be encountered in the home emerging from firewood.
