No prob - it's a cicada's leftover shell from when it molted and became an adult cicada.

That's them! There are annual species, and some that live for 17 years and become famous for a while wherever that particular brood has hatched. There are other periods besides the seventeen year one, too. I think you would know if there was a periodic cicada brood in your area now, so maybe it's a dog day cicada or another annual kind.
