Garden Conservancy Tour - Marin

Novato, CA

There were 8 gardens open in Marin for the Garden Conservancy Tour this Saturday June 21.
I chose 4 to visit on this very warm day.

Below are a few photographs taken in Sausalito, Kentfield, Mill Valley and Belvedere.

Despite the heat there seemed to be a nice turnout of garden revelers.

Garden below :
Sausalito garden -
Nice color combination and uncommon plant choices.

Kentfield Garden -
Designed by Brandon Tyson. He also designed the Sausalito garden above.

Then onto the Mill Valley garden.
Many folks that I spoke to on the tour did not visit this garden due to the beach traffic.
I went later in the day when the traffic had lightened up.
The garden nicely exhibited deer and drought tolerant plants across a moderately steep hillside.

The Belvedere Garden :
This garden had spectacular views that spanned the Golden Gate bridge, the city skyline, the Bay Bridge and the Sausalito harbor.
The garden was pleasant and well maintained but the thrust was on the pool and the view beyond.

Beautiful gardens! I think my favorite is the Mill Valley one, but I love the turtle topiaries in the first one, very cool! And of course the view from the one in Belvedere can't be beat, I love the deck over the water.
