Is this a seed?

Dade City, FL(Zone 9a)

I don't know what this plant is, but it normally has red shoots coming out of the white. They have fallen off and as I was walking by just now I noticed this in the middle of one of the blooms.

Is this a seed growing? If it is, what do I do with it?

Hmmmm.... I haven't a clue as to what the plant is but that looks like a seed 'pod' to me. I'd be inclined to let it ripen (dry) on the plant. Then I would take it off and carefully break it open to see what was inside, them I'd plant what ever was in there. I'm sure someone will recognize the plant. If not, try posting on the Southwest forum. There are some very knowledgeable people there.

It is a bleeding heart vine and yes those are seeds but they look to be too new to be ripe so I would leve them on and let them mature. who knows maybe you will ger a new color bleeding heart vine... How cool would that be???

I would like to be put on your list if you get seeds. I have been looking everywhere for some of these seeds.

Yes, it's a bleeding heart vine, and those are seeds, not ready yet whentheir green though, pick them when they turn black I think, it's been a year since mine seeded LOL I think it has some sort of red mark on the seed too.

both my variegated and solid bleeding hearts put off seeds like this. but never tried to germinate the vareigated one.
