I wrote a little story this morning when it was nice and cool out here in the garden.....I hope if some of you folks have the time to look at it you enjoy it.....I sure hope so...I think its something most folks can relate to.......And again, thanks so much for letting me post my stories up here, I certainly appreciate it.

The Dari King
Memories in the making at 'Dari Kings' .. ours was the "Town Dock" or "Diana Cafe".. wonder if they still have these gathering places, don't hear much of them anymore, so sad, perhaps that's what this generation needs!
From the Cafe to Town dock was a pretty steep hill, the guys from town and country would drive their cars up and down the street, for us women fold it was a hard trek climbing that hill to the Cafe..once we'd strutt out stuff, it was back to the hill to venture down to the Town Dock..surely one of those hunks would see us and we'd get a ride to our next meeting place...hate to count the miles I've walked - up/down/down/up..lol
That's funny, I remember girls walking from one place in town to another..Sashaying was what we called it now that I think of it...When I travel through small towns down here I can spot the ones like the Dari King a mile away.....You kinda know which ones were the special ones.......

You sure can but they are few and far between..you could always tell the farmer boys, they'd come in dressed to the hilt, shoes polished looking their best ..some good looking fellows for sure!
My heart throb of the moment was the captain of the football team and had a really hot 57 Chevy with those wing things on the tail lights, and a CONTINENTAL pack attached to the trunk lid.
Can't remember his name for the life of my, but sure do remember that car!
Nice story, Paul..
Thank you.
I'm the same way, I might not remember somebody's name, but I'll never forget their car....I bet I can tell you what kinda car most everyone drove in Piedmont back when I was a kid or young man, well the ones that were 'hopped up' that is......one other car I'll never forget but wish I could was my parents Nash Rambler Station wagon with faux wood side panels.......:)

Think I have jet lag, but I did post some photos on the Carol/Ava Journey thread.
More tomorrow...these are mostly to tide everybody over till I can get the rest uploaded!
I figured you'd be lagged out for sure, I told Linda I'd be surprised to even see ya, but here you are, should've known......I saw the ones on Carol/Ava Journey thread but'll look again.....I know you'll be writing up a storm the next few days, I'm taking a few days off myself, I got a full day tomorrow, got lots of running around to do for myself, mother and Linda and going to help a buddy the next day in his garden, then my sister is coming this weekend with her dogs from Hades and its my mother's birthday......sooooooooooooo.........I got a full plate, well full for a layed back cool dude like myself.......:)
