CLOSED: Identification please

Hi,
Can anyone identify this insect please, because I have never seen one before. It was indoors, in the bathroom, crawling on a towel.

Maybe a "earwig"?

This more likely is a rove beetle (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae); most species have very short wing covers (elytra) and a flexible abdomen. For the most part, they are considered beneficial, as they are general predators on other small arthropods. See http://www.geocities.com/brisbane_beetles/images/wpe1E6.jpg for an image and http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/misc/beetles/rove_beetles.htm for more detailed information on this group of beetles.

It lacks the cerci of the earwig - that's the pincher looking thing at the end of the abdomen. Rove beetles strongly resemble earwigs, without the cerci, so I agree with suunto, FWIW.
