Multi-graft starting to bloom

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

I have one tree that has 11 cultivars grafted to it. I didn't have a lot of the scions labeled (shame on me) so it is a surprise to see what blooms. Most of the scions were taken from trees that I used to have and sold. I used to have two large 'Spidery Yellow' plumeria trees, but I sold them because the flowers had absolutely no fragrance. Well, apparently, I took a cutting before I sold them and grafted it to this multi-grafted tree because here it is blooming again! I'll post again when another scion blooms. I have one inflo forming so we should have two different blooms on the same tree shortly.

I also have another multi-grafted tree with five inflo's from different cultivars. That will really be a sight to see when it blooms.

Clare that is beautiful. I have inflo on my Wage Rage and I am so excited to see it. I bought it back in Feb on ebay, but did not expect to see buds so soon. Impatiently waiting! LOL!

LOL, Nery!

LiliMerci, congrats on your inflo! 'Wave Rage' is a pretty one. Here is mine from last summer.

Thanks, all. More to come;-)

Way to go, Trent! Pudica flowers are scentless, but it is a great bloomer and so is DSP.

Here's a unnamed white that I call 'Walt's White' because the tree belongs to my neighbor Walt down the street. It too is a reliable bloomer and has a sweet fragrance.

The heat finally arrived here in Southern California the other day, and flowers are finally starting to open so I thought I would show a few more flower pictures today. Here's 'Spidery Yellow' again. The blooms are so pretty. It's a shame that there is no fragrance.

This is a seedling that bloomed at 2 years old, skipped Year 3, and is now blooming at 4 and a half years old again.

Here's another shot of the flowers. Like most seedlings, this is a big tree by now.

I usually don't take pictures of just inflo's anymore, but it is always a good thing when this happens.

This is another seedling that bloomed for a while this fall, then stopped for the winter, and then started again the other day.

This one is from my dear friend in Thailand. It is called 'Tissue' aka 'Stardust.' It has a very nice fragrance.

Here is another unnamed white, which is a prolific bloomer.

Beautiful photos, Clare. That last one is very pretty. How many ways can white and yellow be put together?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Kathleen. I'm not sure that I understand what you mean, but there are endless varieties of the white/yellow combination. They can have varying degrees and shades of a yellow center, and there can be different petal shapes, varying degrees of petal overlap, etc. Of course, flower size varies from hybrid to hybrid as does fragrance, and then there are all sorts of different colors and shading on the back.

Poorly written. I was just marveling at how distinct what some people might call a "plain white and yellow" flower can be, and how one can appeal more than the next. :-)

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Ah, that's true;-) I am surprised often how different the fragrance can be from one white with a yellow center to another. I'll always want to keep a few in my permanent collection.

Beautiful pictures, I really like your pink seedling.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Davie. Here is 'Siam Ruby' that is starting to bloom again after taking a break for the winter. It is lighter than usual but should darken up with this heat we're having.

Awesome pictures I wanted to do that with the grafts. I remember the picture you showed with each tip grafted glad it went good for you. Pink tissue is a neat one there all great thanks for sharing! Double inflo how lucky is that! can't wait to see what follows.

Thanks, Dana. I have two multi-grafted trees that should bloom any time now with different colors. I have one that will bloom with two different cultivars, and another that will bloom with five different cultivars. I will keep you updated!

Clare your big seedling is excellent. Love that explosive center.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thank you, Hetty. I wish they were a bit bigger. They are a bit on the small side.

Never the less (seedling ) can't wait for mine to start doing something I would be very proud. End of this year or maybe next year one thing about it there all surprises.

Here are some more pics from the clan. I'm still waiting for the multi-grafts to bloom, and Samoan Fluff just opened, which is grafted to my Marion B. Marion B. should be open any day now as well.
