Lilium ciliatum

North East England, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Saw this beauty at Belsay Hall garden at the weekend. The stems were about 4-5 feet tall. Stunning!

Nice to see a real pic of it Galanth! I have been tempted with this one from rareplants, as well as many others of course! The price tag of GBP18.50 is a little off-putting though, I wouldn't mind if I could get some seed but I have had some other not-as-expensive lilium bulbs not grow or grow poorly to disappear.

I think (for the moment) I will have to stick with what I have, lol. After winter, I'm anyone's game.

After seeing it growing I am sorely tempted and did look it up on the Paul Christian website. Apparantly it can grow much taller if in shade. It's a beauty for sure but I would feel aggrieved if I'd paid that and lost it. I have bought a few other lilies this year so will try and content myself with those...

That's a beauty.
