CLOSED: Tiny tiny bugs in home

Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Hello,

Recently I've been finding really tiny bugs in my home, less than 1mm (too tiny to take a picture). They are brown in color, although the really tiny ones are off-white.

My mom said they started appearing after she wet the floor and didn't wipe it up.

I originally thought they were springtails; however, they don't jump around. And they don't seem to gather in such excess as springtails (I usually find about 30 of them on my floor at a time)

I've tried killing them, using a dehumidifer to rid any moisture from my room, and I sweep my floor everyday yet they keep coming back. I doubt they're coming from outside since I live on the 2nd floor and keep my windows closed.

I've been searching all over the internet for answers but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

If they are that small, I would suspect either booklice (Psocoptera: Liposcelidae) or mites. See http://www.extension.umn.edu/yardandgarden/YGLNews/images/booklice.jpg for an image of booklice, and http://www.scienceimage.csiro.au/index.cfm?event=site.image.thumbnail&id=1118&viewfile=f&divid=BE for mites.
