Naked Lady?

Scott Bar, CA(Zone 6a)

I received this lily as a gift and was told that it was a "Naked Lady". It was supposed to grow leaves in the spring, die back in the summer then send up a "naked scape in the fall. It has taken it upon itself to bloom now with leaves intact. Am curious about the ID.

Thanks for any direction as to what it is. Thanks,

Bill

That looks like a naked lady of the belladonna sort ~ great for your area. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2377/

Guess I wasn't led astray! Thanks for your response. I was given several bulbs that did not survive the winter here so this one was pot grown in the GH and set outside when the weather warmed. Perhaps that influenced the early bloom.

Yep, you were given good info. There are several bulbs that go by the generic name of 'naked lady', most are of the Lycoris family and prefer slightly cooler climes.
