I spied these butterflys mating at our home in Canterbury, CT, but I haven't been able to find anything online that looks like this, especially with the striped red/white body. Does anyone know what species this is?

Fly girl, isn't that strictly a west-coast species? I think they're Cecropia Moths, Hyalophora cecropia
Oops, you're right Mike, they are cecropia, thanks.
I always have to look them up because there's yet another very similar species, H. columbia, but I don't remember anyone posting pics here yet.
Anyway, those are spectacular moths, a male and female.
