We live in Northeast CT. I was packing up my son's bouncy house and found several of these hanging out on the underside. This happened late last summer as well. I found them on the underside of a blanket we were sitting on. Initially I thought they were ticks but now I'm not sure. Can someone help me identify these? It appears to be brown and black with tan markings. 6 legs, antennae, hard shell.
CLOSED: Is this a tick?
No, it's a weevil, a kind of beetle. Ticks are Arachnids along with spiders, and have eight legs. They're usually pretty flat, unless they've found an animal to feed off.
Thank you! Anyone have any idea what species of weevil?
