slow site in evening

dave is there anything you can do th speed up the site in the evenings. I know it is not my computer because this site is the only one i am having trouble with. after midnight it picks up speed again but from about 5pm til midnight it is very slow. thanks

There is things that I can do to speed up the site, but any dramatic speed increases will take a lot of money, which I do not have budgeted for DG right now.

I am always optimizing and squeezing the last bit of speed out of our link and server CPU.

I'm thinking it's not this site. I've noticed for the last two nights the internet has slowed to a crawl at about 9:00 pm. Tonight I thought it was netscape and shut it down and flipped over to internet explorer but it's slow too. It actually picks up speed when I get to DG. Of course I'm a total idiot about these things so who knows......vic

I would think the big slowdown is after midnight until about 2:00am. This is when I run my nightly jobs (backup, newsletter, and various other reports).

Dave you keep the kind of hours that I do. I understand the budget deal. The slowness will never make me want to leave this wonderful site. I have made so many friens here I would not trade this for anything.

Ah, ha! So that's it! Howard gets home from work about 1:15am and we always hit the site together at that time on our shared internet connection....Right when the reports are running. Well, phoey. Guess we'll have to hit the site more before he goes to work in the afternoons!
