In my "big book" of plant info it keeps telling me to propagate by sowing "in situ" can anyone tell me what this means?? does it just mean to plant in a site according to the info listed or what?????????
thanks,Briggs
propagation term
it means to sow them where you want them to grow - at least i think it does..
I think the literal translation is "In its proper position." Or at least close to that. It means to sow the seeds where you want them to grow, versus starting them in flats or peat pots, with the intention of transplanting them later.
thanks for the info :)
Most of the time when you see 'in situ', it is because the plant does not like to be transplanted OR it just sprouts really fast, so there is no need to waste the time, space and money involved in starting it indoors. ;)
