What lives in or near your Pond (volume 2)

Near Lake Erie, NW, PA(Zone 5a)

Thanks for the directions for the dripper, I think mine is built the same, it has been in storage a long time, hope it is not dry rotted. I have a garden hose the is dripping into the pond, needs the faucet changed, I just thought if it was dripping alreay might make it more attractive.

Thanks Evie, I stood there a while hoping to catch frog in midair jump but I got tired of standing.

How to make a birdbath dripper.
I'll post this information on the Water Gardens thread.

Man! The things a girl toad has to put up with in a lifetime living at PosyPond☺

And the toad at the top is saying "hold still Mabel, I'll get him!"

It amazing me how my frogs will eat Yellow Jackets like popcorn and they don't get stung, or maybe it just doesn't bother them.

Oh BeaHive, I want to be able to do tht with my babies, but they are such scardy cats :( I have now started to walking in the shallow water out a few feet(3 1/2) and throw their food out to them! The darn hoggy bullheads come right up and scarf down 2 and 3 balls at a time :( The Koi just race up to the top of the water, gulp down one and , dive, dive, dive :( Perhaps it is better they be shy, then race up and find a huge heron ready to tear them to shreds I guess.

I've been enjoying all the pictures, caught a few today myself. I have Chipmunk everywhere they are cute but I could do with a few less. Of course since I have bird seed everywhere you can't blame them for making themselves at home. If you look close you can just see him (or her) sitting on the large rocks near the pond.

I presume all those are seeds she has collected? Does she pouch then bring them to the rock to have breakfast?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Yes she must, there wouldn't be any laying around in that area so that's what I thought she did.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Sigh. We had families of Chipmunks until Lil Kitty ate them and left me the heads. So thoughtful of her.

Don't you just love it when they do that. LOL
We have a cat but she's pretty old and laid back now, but I remember the days when I would open the door and find a present. Oh so proud of herself. We have way too many Chipmunks here I could use a hunter.
I haven't posted any frog pictures lately, but they have stayed the summer and seem to be pretty happy in my small pond

Here is a close-up of the water willow flowers. They are very pretty for being so small.
Thanks Holly!

Thanks Lady, for posting that close up. I just haven't been able to get a good close up shot of them yet. They are very tiny and very beautiful.

Warren, OH(Zone 5b)

I have several frogs in my pond that I can feed worms to by hand, here is 1 guy soaking up the sun.

I love the green frogs! I have never tried feeding mine...something new to try!

Here's a chipmunk on top of the waterfall rocks. Look between/behind the penstemon. They love moving through and on top of the built-up waterfall area (the stones are dry stacked).
