I noticed I have new healthy fronds (or stolons?) popping up and I am wondering if I should cut a few off, and plant in some good soil? Anyone had success with this? I know ferns reproduce differently than most plants... so I'm not sure this will work.
Much thanks!

Boston Fern propagation...?
You can divide your fern in to as many little plants as you want. Just pull them out from the mother plant. Ferns also grow from spores but that is a complicated procedure.'

Those little slips would take a while to fill up a basket. I've taken a hack saw to the rootball of an overfilled basket and devided them into four. In the right conditions, they're fairly tough.
Agrinerd is correctboston ferns are tough as nails. you can cut up the main part into a bunch of little pieces or if you just want to take runners you might try filling a new basket with soil and planting several runners around the pot and in the center giving them room to fill in.
Please keep us posted as this is a good project for those who whish to lern how to multiply ferns without going through the tedious task of using spores to propogating. Have fun with it i know if I don't know something or I am unshure I will go for it as I have had some great plants as well as some huge mistakes i am cvalling my self a dumb A%% for being so stupid.
Have fun
Dave
