CLOSED: unidentified winged creature

Bird In Hand, PA

We just bought a home and found these creatures. They hang out in the sunny side of the garden and in the mulched area. Any idea how I can get rid of (if they are not just a nuisance and harmless). There are also tinier red bugs and I am unsure if they are related I will post that pic after this one

This is an adult eastern boxelder bud (Boisea trivittata [sometimes also spelled 'trivittatus']; Hemiptera: Rhopalidae); the small red ones would be nymphs. See http://www.extension.umn.edu/distribution/horticulture/DG0998.html for a fact sheet tah includes control recommendations.
