Wah! When I click on the link, it says 'access denied'. I hate that! I hate being denied anything, especially access.

last one.
Considering that I filled over 4 gigs of chips, I usually end up with less than 10 that I really like.
Yesterday I was shooting a civil war reenactment and the photographer beside me said something interesting. She said she overheard a woman saying, "Look at all her equipment, she must be a very good photographer."

We both laughed and then she told me something she had heard years ago as a young photographer, "It is not the size of the equipment that makes a good photographer, it is the size of the waste basket."

So considering that I threw away 3 gigs of shots, I am bound to come up with at least 3 that Heidi might want to put on her website. :)

Just for grins, here is one of the civil war shots. Again, shoot for hours and end up with one photo.

Wow, Neo - you are somethin' else!!!!!!

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

I second murmur, you are just in another league. Stunning.

What fun to read this thread.

Poulsbo, WA

Thank you, thank you thank you! You guys are too generous with your compliments! I am going to start posting all of the images that didn't work just so you will know that it is the quantity of shots that leads to the one, or the few, quality shots. And remember, I have been a designer since the age of 23 and teach design, so my eye is trained to see the compositions without even thinking about it. There are some great photographers on this forum, I've probably just had more time in the trenches as they say. :)

Here is an example of the ones I DON'T show. ;)

Awwwwwww . . . you're just trying to make us feel better!

Seriously, Neo, your images are absolutely wonderful - so much fun for us to see!

Poulsbo, WA

Alrighty then, I'll shut up and enjoy you enjoying the photos. ;)
Hey, I enjoy them too! It is so much fun to look at pretty pictures when everything is blah outside. I like to be reminded of the quiet beauty that exists in a single blossom, waving in the wind, when life is crashing down all around.

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Well said, Neo - and you surely do know what it means to have life crashing down all around. I greatly admire you.

Poulsbo, WA

As do I you. Pain is a gift that forces us beyond of ourselves, makes us less like who we would be without it, and more like who we should be, to be of any use at all to our fellow man.

Here are a couple of more shots from the civil war reenactment. I had some pleasant conversations with some of the families, everyone involved in trying to understand a lifestyle without electricity, and no video games!

Here is a family washing each others hair, the youngest ones fetching, heating, and dumping out the dirty water. They even offered to do mine because I was having so much fun watching them. I passed because I didn't want to get chilled. Fibromyalgia hurts more when you shiver! :)

Here is a young girl who looked like she had just walked off the history channel.

Some musicians playing southern favorites, they were in the "rebel" camp.

I got tickled at the guys taking a hit, and falling to the ground. They seemed to be having a blast.

Great shots! Where was the Civil War event? We have one every year at Ft. Steilacoom park down the road.

Heidi's place looks great. I do love those mirrored balls.

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

They are just fascinating to look at - just great Neo. Thank you.

Kingston, WA

Looks great neo you are the best it doesn't even look like my yard. We heard the bangs all day and finally figured out it was at port gamble the civil war thing.. Your the beast heidi and dragonfly

Poulsbo, WA

"Your the beast heidi and dragonfly"

Funny that is what my first husband always said to me. ;)

It was at Port Gamble, just about 7 miles down the road from me.
Yeah, Heidi, those cannons were amazingly loud, but the horses didn't even flinch. Apparently it takes years of training, but I wonder, why not just use deaf horses to begin with. Seems that a lot of horses end up in slaughter yards for being deaf, or other.

I am working on getting the sunny day ones ready to put on my garden blog. I will made CDs for you and Susan and drop them by next Friday during the farmer's market.

That's great. I am please for you that your soil turned out to be in such excellent shape! And no rocks for "several feet" blows my mind! I can barely dive down a few inches in the new area I am working. It has taken me weeks to get it done. Here's a shot of the rocks just from one small area and those are just the smaller ones left from screening the dirt. The large ones were removed by hand and piled up for using in my dry creek bed. I just keep telling myself that I won't ever have to do it again!

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

Judges by Tils and Neo, I think you may be 1 or 2 photos short!!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)
