CLOSED: What is this cute little guy?

He reminded me of a hummingbird moth, only the way he hovered while he stuck his tongue in the flower. He was much smaller though. He was quite cute.

it's a "Bee-fly".... family Bombyliidae... most likely genus Bombylius.... one of my favs. PS...they do NOT sting.

Bombylius major I would say by the wing pattern.

Here's mine, this is the female, I got lots of pics of both male and female but this one shows the wing pattern well.

Yeah he does look like a flying teddy bear! I startled him trying to get his picture, and he zoomed up (all ufo-ish) and then zoomed off.
